An artist molded by her international experiences, Zuzka Vaclavik is dual citizen of the United States and Slovakia, as her parents escaped from Communist Czechoslovakia in the late 1970ís. Shortly after immigrating to the United States, her family moved to Munich, Germany where she started taking art lessons from a Czech painter.
Later in her life, a passion and curiosity for new experiences led her to pursue her development as an artist in the Far East following her BFA. She lived in Phnom Pehn, Cambodia for two years before beginning her graduate school studies. In 2008, after earning her MFA from the University of Georgia, Zuzka traveled and lived in Italy, Costa Rica and Germany.
Vaclavik has exhibited her work in New York, California, Germany, Austria, and across the United States, including Pulse Art Fair and Art 21 in Cologne. Critical reviews/publications of her work can be found in The Atlanta Journal Constitution, New American Paintings, and in Germany through Sudwest Presse.†
